One of the places I really enjoy is Kolkata the City of Joy and near the airport there is a very beautiful resort called Vedic Village. Set in the pristine naturally beautiful surroundings Vedic Village can offer a weary traveller or a tourist or anybody seeking a place to relax and rejuvenate an unforgettable experience. My wife and me had a chance to visit the Sanjiva SPA at vedic village where expert ayurvedic doctor Mr. P.K Bal recommended a rejuvenating and reviving massage. The ayurvedic masseurs originally trained in Kerala for both ladies and gents can really do wonders to your body and soul. My wife who is from Kerala was impressed with the treatments as they were authentic and professional. This ancient system of Ayurvedic massage is performed according to ancient tradition with oils and herbs .Nothing less than spectacular, the experience is total relaxation and rejuvenation.
Also the exquisite vegetarian cuisine with variety of taste to cater to one and all!
Here people are very friendly and from the moment you step in you are greeted with folded hand and namaskar the original Indian salute as to welcome! Cleanliness is kept at high standard and the small Vedic cottages design according to village lifestyle offer all comfort! For those who like to swim there is a nice swimming pool and the gym is well equipped.
So if you are coming to Kolkata the city of joy and your plane is late or you like to relax come to these 70 acres of perfect beauty and relaxation, I assure you you’ll get a taste that you’ll never forget!

I spent a week at the Sanjeeva Ayurveda Wellness Spa at Vedic Village, Kolkata.
“The treatments were professional in all ways; from cleanliness, to ambience, to the expertise of the masseur, clearly up to Western standards. Because of the supervision of the ayurveda doctors, along with massage we received herbal remedies prescribed for our particular condition, so the healing results were better than we expected.
The rooms we stayed in overlooking the lake were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The room had a very homey flavor, not a hotel flavor. We especially liked the wood floors, large bathroom and outdoor shower, not to speak of the balcony overlooking the lake.
There was such a large variety of meal choices that we were completely satisfied. We are vegetarians and also follow a fairly strict diet but our meal needs were all fulfilled.
The Spa and hotel staff, aside from being very sweet, were totally accommodating to our needs.
Overall experience was as good as we could expect at any spa in the world.”
